About Flying S Labradors

Flying S Labradors logo designed by our 9 yr old son.

This logo was drawn by our son Trapper at age 9.

We live on a 30-acre farm that has been in the family for over 40 years. The “Flying S” came from the flying squirrels that live in our woods. Our primary goal is to raise healthy, happy, and intelligent Labrador Retriever puppies with good temperaments. We strive to produce Labradors that are great hunters as well as great couch potatoes.

Our Labs are part of our family. They do not live in kennels. They are an important part of our lives and are involved in the daily operations around the farm. The Labs assist us with feeding livestock and have access to 5-acres of land as well as a Labrador swimming pool (also known as the pond). We plan only one or two litters a year and make every effort to produce the very best dogs possible. Today we proudly raise AKC registered Labrador Retrievers as part of our family.

How We Got Started

Our first Lab Toby naps with the chickens.

Our family has been blessed with pets our entire lives. Throughout the years we have had the pleasure of many different breeds on our farm, but none as special as our first Labrador Retriever named Toby.

Around 10 years ago we noticed a black puppy abandoned along a road we travel. After three days of seeing the pup in the same remote spot, we had to stop. Just inside the edge of a tobacco field, we found the pup lying in a well-established bed surrounded by roadside items such as cans and cardboard. Of course we gathered him up and went to all the surrounding neighbors looking for his owner. They admitted to seeing him, but none of them claimed him as their own. From that day forward, we fell in love with Toby and the Labrador Retriever breed.
